If you are experiencing poor radio signal with the VHEDIA head unit suitable for Toyota Landcruiser 200 Series (2008–2012) VX, GXL, GX, and Altitude models, the issue may be related to the connection of the factory standard radio antenna. Follow these steps to resolve the problem:

1. Check the Factory Antenna Connection:

  • In some Toyota Landcruiser models, the blue wire typically used for the radio antenna signal may not be present on the antenna port.
  • Instead, the antenna signal wire is routed through the factory main plug as a pink wire.

2. Locate the AMP COM Connector:

  • Follow the pink wire from the main harness of the VHEDIA head unit.
  • This wire is labelled as AMP COM and is connected via an SM connector.

3. Ensure Proper Connection:

  • Verify that the AMP COM connector is securely plugged in.
  • Refer to the attached photo for guidance (see the circled areas in the image for the correct connector locations).

4. Test the Radio Signal:

  • After ensuring the connection is secure, test the radio signal to confirm the issue has been resolved.

Additional Notes:

  • If the issue persists after verifying the connection, check for any damage or loose wires in the harness.
  • Ensure the antenna itself is in good condition and properly mounted.

By following these steps, you should be able to restore optimal radio signal performance for your VHEDIA head unit.
