If your Subaru (2014–2018) is equipped with a factory amplifier and you are using the Harman Kardon Subaru Wire Kit, you may find that the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) app on your VHEDIA head unit is not functioning as expected. This is because our head unit utilises the factory amplifier to control the sound, making the DSP app unnecessary in this setup.
Steps to Ensure Proper Audio Setup:
1. Set the CANBUS Profile:
- Ensure that the CANBUS profile is set to 285. This setting is crucial for the head unit to communicate correctly with your vehicle's factory amplifier. Below is the video on how to do it:
2. Adjust Amplifier Settings:
- On your VHEDIA head unit, go to Apps.
- Select Car Info.
- Navigate to Car Set>Select bottom option "Original Car Vehicle Square Control Type". (You will see two options - try each one, as one them should work.)
- This step allows the head unit to correctly use the factory amplifier to control the audio.
- Since the factory amplifier handles the audio output in this configuration, the DSP app on the head unit will not be functional. The factory amplifier has its own audio processing capabilities, rendering the DSP app unnecessary.
- By setting the CANBUS profile and adjusting the amplifier settings, your head unit will integrate seamlessly with the Harman Kardon system, ensuring optimal audio performance.
