Step 1: Locate the Factory USB Port Plug
- Look for the factory USB plug. The photo provided shows where the factory cable of the car is plugged in, indicating its location behind the dashboard.

- Unplug the factory USB cable

Step 2: Identify the Retention Cable
- Find the retention cable included in your kit. The third photo provided shows the retention cable. It's a black cable with connectors on both ends, labelled specifically for use with Mitsubishi vehicles.

Step 3: Connect the Retention Cable
Plug the Retention Cable into the Factory USB Plug:
- Take one end of the retention cable and plug it into the factory USB port plug that you located earlier. Ensure it is securely connected.

2. Connect the Other End to the Head Unit:
- Connect the opposite end of the retention cable to the USB port connected to your new head unit. This port is usually labelled “3G/USB”.

Step 4: Test the USB Port
- Turn on the head unit and test the factory USB port by plugging in a USB device. Ensure the head unit recognises the device and that everything is functioning properly.
Following these steps will ensure your factory USB port remains operational with your new head unit. If you encounter any issues, double-check the connections or reach out to our Customer Support.
