Installing an external microphone on your VHEDIA head unit can significantly improve the quality of your hands-free calls and voice commands. Follow these steps to properly install the microphone and ensure optimal performance.
- VHEDIA head unit package (including the external microphone)
- Basic tools for panel removal (e.g., trim removal tool, screwdriver)
- Cable ties (optional for tidying up cables)
Steps:
- Ensure you have all necessary tools and components.
- Park your car in a safe, well-lit area.
2. Locate the External Microphone Port:
- The external microphone port is usually located at the back of the VHEDIA head unit. Refer to the user manual for the exact location if needed.
3. Plan the Microphone Placement and Mount:
- The ideal locations for the external microphone are either behind the rearview mirror or on the right-side panel near the driver's seat. Choose a spot that is closest to your mouth but unobtrusive.

4. Run the Microphone Cable:
- Carefully run the microphone cable from your chosen mounting spot to the head unit.
- Tuck the cable along the edge of the headliner, down the A-pillar, and towards the back of the head unit.
- Run the cable down the A-pillar to the edge of the dashboard and towards the back of the head unit.
