ISSUE:
Your VHEDIA head unit comes with a built-in microphone. At times, you may encounter issues where the microphone audio volume is low, or people are saying they can't hear you or that you sound like you're in a tunnel.
You may experience this while you're phone is connected to the head unit via Bluetooth only, or via Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
There are many factors to consider as to why this happens, it can be your phone's interference with the Bluetooth connection, even wireless speakers, neighboring Bluetooth devices, Microwave ovens, wifi connections, etc. can interfere with Bluetooth connection. Things that we don’t see but really affect Bluetooth connection in general, this applies to all Bluetooth-supported devices, not just the head unit.
But no worries, below are some things you can try to sort the issue out.
HOW TO FIX:
1. Make sure the external mic is disconnected.
2. Make sure your head unit is updated to the latest firmware update

If still bad we need to dive deeper:
- What phone do you have and what AndroidOS or iOS version it is running on?
- How is your phone connected to the head unit? via Bluetooth only or via Apple CarPlay/Android Auto?
- How do you describe the microphone quality? do you sound faint like you are in a tunnel?
- If connected via Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, try to just connect over Bluetooth. Is the quality the same?
- If so send all details to us via email at [email protected].
STEPS TO TAKE
Try changing the BT Volume/Gain on the head unit.
1. Go to Settings > Car Infotainment > About Device
2. Click on the Gear/Setting icon on the top right part and enter 8878 for password.
3. From the factory settings menu, click Volume and adjust the BT Mic gain and Volume.

4. Tap Save and Reboot. See if the mic works better.
