If the steering wheel controls on your Mitsubishi Triton 2009-2015 GLX-R are not responding after installing the headunit, follow this troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the issue.
1. Identify the Correct Wires
- For the Mitsubishi Triton 2009-2015 GLX-R model, the radio harness includes the steering wheel control wires. Depending on the version of the vehicle’s loom, you will encounter either a 22-pin connector or a 14-pin connector.

2. Locate the SWC Wires

For both connector types, the colour configuration for the wires remains consistent.
3. Make the Necessary Connections
The SWC wires in the vehicle’s harness should be connected to the VHEDIA wiring loom as follows:
- RED with White Trace Wire: Connect this wire to the wire marked KEY1 on the VHEDIA wiring loom.
- RED with Yellow Trace Wire: Connect this wire to the wire marked GROUND on the VHEDIA wiring loom.
See the photo below for your reference:

4. Secure the Connections
- Use electrical tape or crimp connectors to ensure that the connections are secure. Loose or exposed wires may result in connection failures or cause short circuits.
5. Verify the Connections
- Double-check all the connections you have made, ensuring that they are properly secured and that the colours of the wires match with those mentioned above.
6. Final Testing and Adjustments
- After confirming the connections and verifying the loom configuration, conduct a final test of the steering wheel controls. Make sure all buttons are working as intended.
