VHEDIA G-Series head units offer the flexibility to use either the built-in microphone or the external microphone included in the package. This feature allows you to customise your setup based on your preference or specific needs. Here's how to switch between the two and when to consider using the external microphone:

Built-In Microphone vs External Microphone

1. Built-In Microphone:

The head unit's built-in microphone is perfectly capable of handling calls and voice commands without requiring any additional setup. It's reliable and sufficient for most users.

2. External Microphone:

The external microphone is provided as an optional extra. While not essential, it may offer improved audio quality depending on your vehicle's environment and placement options. If you notice your voice isn’t being picked up clearly or you encounter excessive background noise, you might want to try the external microphone.

Follow these steps to choose your preferred microphone:

1. Go to Settings.

2. Navigate to Sound.

 3. Scroll down and tap MIC external internal toggle switch.

4. Choose Built in or External.

  • Built-In Mic: Uses the microphone integrated into the head unit.
  • External Mic: Uses the microphone provided in the package.
When to Use the External Microphone

  • If the built-in microphone is delivering clear audio for your calls and commands, there’s no need to switch to the external microphone.

  • Try the external microphone if:

    • You encounter issues with the clarity of your voice during calls.
    • There is significant background noise in your vehicle that affects mic performance.
    • Your voice commands are not being accurately recognised.

The external microphone provides a potential quality boost but is not necessary for all users.

Using the built-in microphone is a hassle-free and effective option for most users. The external microphone is a thoughtful inclusion for those seeking to fine-tune their audio setup or address specific issues.
