How to Connect the Reverse Camera for Mazda BT-50 (2012–2018) with Polaris Factory Head Unit

If you’re installing a VHEDIA head unit on your Mazda BT-50 (2012–2018) with a Polaris factory head unit, follow this guide to connect the reverse camera properly.

What You’ll Need:


✅ Special reverse camera cable (included in your BT-50 kit) – see image below

✅ Purple RCA lead labelled "CAM IN" from the VHEDIA head unit

Step-by-Step Installation Guide:


Step 1: Locate the Reverse Mirror Plug
  • The reverse mirror plug is located behind the rear view mirror.
  • Carefully access it by gently removing the trim surrounding the mirror if needed.
Step 2: Connect the Special Cable
  • Take the black plug from the special cable and connect it to the reverse mirror plug.
Step 3: Run the Cable to the Head Unit
  • Carefully route the cable from the rear view mirror area down to the back of your VHEDIA head unit.
  • Make sure to tuck the cable behind the headliner and panels for a neat finish.
Step 4: Connect to the CAM IN Lead
  • Plug the RCA end of the special cable into the purple RCA lead labelled "CAM IN" of the auxiliary cable for the reverse camera.
  • Refer to the photo below for the connection setup:
Step 5: Plug the Auxiliary Cable into the VHEDIA Head Unit
  • Connect the auxiliary cable for the reverse camera into the back of the VHEDIA head unit.
    ✅ Refer to the attached photo to ensure you’re using the correct port.
