At times, you may find it hard to connect your iOS device to Apple CarPlay via our PhoneLink/SpeedPlay/Zlink app, but no worries, you may try the steps below to sort it out.

Firstly, try toggling your phone's mobile hotspot off and on. If that doesn't resolve the issue, we recommend restarting your phone.

If the problem persists, please follow the steps outlined below:

FOR ANDROID AUTO:

Android Auto app on your android phone accumulates system cache overtime. What you need to do first is to clear app cache and try connecting to SpeedPlay/Autolink again once done.

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Go into Apps.

3. Tap on See all apps.

4. Find and select Android Auto(In newer devices, the app is moved to the system and might appear as com. google. android. projection. ...

5. Go into Storage & cache.

6. Tap on Clear storage and Clear cache.

If clearing cache didn't work, proceed with steps below.

If you're on an iPhone and is using CarPlay, skip the steps above and proceed with the steps below.

1. Soft Reboot - Just like any gadgets, doing a reboot will remove system cache that accumulated on the device and will help optimise the head unit.

X - SERIES SOFT REBOOT

- On your head unit go to Settings

- Car Settings

- Factory Settings

- Enter 126 for the password

- Select BT Mode

- Choose the same one that's already selected and it will ask you to reboot.

M SERIES - SOFT REBOOT

-From your Homescreen, swipe down from the top of the screen
-The Quick Settings panel of the head unit will show up and tap on Reboot.

2. Make sure your Android Phone/iPhone is updated - Updating your phone's firmware is essential if you're experiencing connectivity issues with Android Auto or CarPlay, as it often resolves compatibility bugs and enhances integration, ensuring a smoother experience.

3. If the above didn't work, please update your SpeedPlay app. See this video below:

X SERIES - SpeedPlay Update

NOTE: If the downloaded SpeedPlay APK installer didn't work, you will need to rename it. Please see video below:

M Series - Autolink to CarLetter

For our M Series, you can change your Autolink to CarLetter. This is an app responsible for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

4. Install new firmware update:
X Series:

M Series: https://vhedia.com.au/download-m-series-update/

5. If still didn't work, reach out to us via chat, phone, or email and we will help you further.

NOTE: Apple CarPlay works by using a special chip connected through Bluetooth. This might fill up the channel and make the Bluetooth symbol on the head unit show as disconnected. But with Android Auto, it uses Bluetooth without filling up the data channel. So, it still shows that the Bluetooth is connected on the headunit.
